1. How do I schedule my exam?

  • For Insurance Exams: To schedule your exam you need to contact Prometric at least 7-10 days in advance of the date you would like to take your insurance exam. You can register by either calling Prometric's registration line at 800-853-5448 or you can save $5 on your exam fee and register on their website at www.prometric.com/arizona. Prometric has insurance testing locations in Phoenix, Tempe, Casa Grande, Tucson and Flagstaff. Exams are given Monday through Saturday at various times throughout the day. Don't Forget: You will have to submit a set of fingerprints to the state in order to obtain your insurance license. Prometric can do your fingerprints for you, at the test center, if you request to have them done when you schedule you exam ($20 fee), or we can do your fingerprints for you at our Scottsdale office between the hours of 12-2pm Monday through Friday ($20 for up to two cards).
  • For Securities Exams: To schedule your securities exam you need to contact either Prometric at 800-578-6273 or Pearson VUE at 866-396-6273. Thomson Prometric operates testing centers in Goodyear, Phoenix, Tempe, Tucson and Flagstaff. Pearson operates testing centers in Mesa, Phoenix and Tucson.

4. What are your study materials formatted like?

We publish all of our own study material in the form of exam specific text books with hundreds of practice questions. We also publish CD-Rom exam simulation computer programs, Audio CD tutorials, and test topic instructional DVD videos for most of our programs. 6. How many questions are going to be on my exam and what is the passing score?

All licensing exams are multiple choice and are given on computer. Most of the exams listed below will also include an additional 5 pre-test questions on top of the number of questions listed below. The number of questions listed below are the number of questions you will be graded on. The pre-test questions are experimental questions and do not count against the time you have to take your exam and do not count for or against your score. You will not know which questions the pre-test questions are.

7. Can you do my fingerprints for my license?

Yes! However, we only do fingerprints for Insurance and Securities licensing candidates. Fingerprinting services are available at our Scottsdale office from 12-2pm Monday through Friday. No appointment is necessary, and the fee is $20 for up to two cards (i.e. if you need three cards the fee would be $40).

8. What type of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, business checks, cashiers checks and money orders. We do not accept personal checks!

9. How do I purchase materials and/or register for class?

You can purchase materials and/or register for class by calling 800-845-3392 Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm or you can save $5 and register online at www.licenseline.com.

10. How do I obtain my material?

We ship our course materials via UPS to either a residential or business address. UPS guarantees shipments to arrive by the end of the next business day within Arizona ($10 fee). UPS will not ship to a PO Box. You may also pick your material up in our Scottsdale office Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am and 5pm.

11. Should I obtain my study material prior to attending my lecture class?

Yes! We highly recommend pre-studying the text material prior to attending your lecture class.

12. Do I have to attend a lecture class prior to taking my exam?

No! You can purchase any of our study material to study on your own without attending any portion of a lecture class. If you register to study the materials on your own (home study), you also have the option to attend a lecture class by paying the difference in tuition. You have a six month period, starting the date of your registration, in which you can upgrade to the class.

13. Is there a deadline for enrollment for your lecture classes?

No! We register students up to the day of class for any of our classes. Also, once you register you have a six month window, in which, you can attend the class in any one of our four classroom locations multiple times without having to pay an additional fee. If a student wishes to continue to attend a class beyond their six month registration window another registration fee would be due.

14. What is the total cost involved to obtain my insurance license?

  • Cost for study material/lecture class with the school (range from $99 to $199)
  • Cost for fingerprinting ($20)
  • Cost for the state exam ($62 for most exams)
  • State Licensing fee ($120 plus $24 fingerprint processing fee = $144)

Total cost of Insurance licensing range from $333 to $438

15. Where do I go, and what do I need to obtain my insurance license?

Once you have passed your exam, you may apply for your license through the Arizona Department of Insurance at 2910 N. 44th Street, Suite 210 (at the northwest corner of 44th Street and Thomas) in Phoenix. Their phone number is 602-364-4457. They do on-the-spot licensing from 8am to 4pm Monday through Friday. Please take the following items with you:

  1. Completed license application found starting on page 37 of your Arizona Licensing Information Bulletin.
  2. Fingerprints (unless they have been submitted for a previous insurance license).
  3. Test results
  4. Licensing fee paid in check or cash only. $144 for first time applicants. $120 if adding another insurance license.
